22/10/2007 WPC set to launch new Web-based document managment system Building on the success of Ferret and the knowledge gained by supplying a document management system to over 25 police customers, WPC decided to extend its document management capabilities, and has now developed Core-DMS. Core-DMS is an entirely Web-based document management system, built using the latest Microsoft .Net technology, and provides an exciting range of enhanced features and benefits. Being completely browser -based, Core-DMS allows documents to be scanned, viewed or edited from any workstation on the force network.

14/09/2007 VETTING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM READY TO GO Development work on WPC Software's latest application, Core-Vet, has now been comlpeted. The system offers a fully auditable and secure method of managing the entire vetting process, from receipt of an application through to aftercare requirements. Core-Vet is a web-based application, exploiting the latest technologies and designed to be used by a force vetting team to manage applications for all police staff and officers, as well as non-police personnel, such as contractors. The system helps ensure that procedures are carried out consistently and in line with the ACPO National Policy for Vetting in the Police Community.

02/05/2007 ELVIS PF HO/RT2 success shown at IAATI 2007 WPC Software recently made its regular appearance at the annual IAATI UK Conference, this year held at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire. Of particular interest to delegates at this year’s event was the latest development within ELVIS - PF, an elecronic HO/RT2 form. In Merseyside, the introduction of this new module has led to the seizure of 48 non-current licences and 1 fraudulent licence in March '07 alone.

Humberside, Bedfordshire and Merseyside have all recently selected COMPACT to assist them in the management of their missing persons cases. 24/03/2006 Hi-tech boost in dumped car fight Northamptonshire's arson task force will now use a state-of-the-art computer database to help organise and speed up the removal of abandoned vehicles from Northamptonshire's roads. The task force - a partnership between Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and the police which aims to combat a rise in arson in the county - is using ELVIS-VR (Easy Link Vehicle Information System for Vehicle Recovery) to provide a central database for information about abandoned vehicles, which are often a target for arsonists.

10/03/2006 Great results for WPC in customer satisfaction survey In January 2006 an independent customer satisfaction survey was run by TNS Prognostics, and WPC fared exceptionally well. The survey was carried out as part of WPC becoming a Microsoft Certified Partner, and the results of it put WPC well into the top 5% of Microsoft Partners.

25/02/2006 New features for Lynx Lynx, WPC's new telecommunications data analysis software has been updated to include new time-saving features, thanks to operational input from several police forces. Its main feature is the ability to import and analyse telephone billings from a variety of sources. Users can now display most frequently called numbers at the touch of a button, saving hours or even days of effort.

03/10/2005 TOCSIN - FIRE: HELPS REDUCE FALSE ALARMS Tocsin - Fire is a software application being developed to implement the CFOA's policy for monitoring and managing Remotely Monitored Fire Alarm Systems (RMFAS). It will allow Fire Services to manage alarm, alarm company, alarm receiving centre and alarm call records. WPC Software, has for some time supplied the TOCSIN system to help police manage monitored intruder alarms. With the publication of the CFOA's policy around the reduction of false alarms, we have had increasing interest in this system, from the fire service.

20/09/2005 NEW INTERFACE AIDS SEARCH FOR MISSING PEOPLE A new interface is helping police speed up the exchange of information between COMPACT - Misper and the National Missing Persons Helpline (NMPH). The interface is a secure link that automatically transfers police information about missing persons cases to the NMPH in the charity's own computer format, together with the investigating officer's contact details. The new COMPACT - Misper interface is being used by both the Gloucestershire and Leicestershire constabularies to share details of low, medium and high-risk cases with the London-based charity.

06/07/2005 LYNX HELPS FORCE INVESTIGATION TEAMS WPC Software is launching its latest software application to help UK police forces work towards effective policing. LYNX is an intelligence tool designed to help investigating teams manage small to medium sized operations. During its development we have been working very closely with a UK police force to ensure LYNX fulfils the needs of a number of departments. The program is aimed at targeted operations and allows telephone transactions (from the many communication service providers) to be imported and analysed. The import utility enables filtering of specific calling or called numbers, talk and SMS. Telephone records can be created automatically during the import procedure and as soon as all communications have been processed a graphical representation of them is available.

01/07/2005 INN KEEPER IS NUMBER ONE CHOICE FOR LICENSING OFFICERS Nearly half the police forces in England have now bought WPC's popular Inn Keeper licensing software which has been updated to comply with new legislation. The latest forces to buy Inn Keeper are Norfolk, Humberside, Lincolnshire, West Mercia, Lancashire, Bedfordshire, and the Ealing, Sutton and Southwark areas of the Metropolitan Police. This increases the number of Inn Keeper customers to 19.

15/06/2005 SHOGUN BANG UP TO DATE Version 8.1 of WPC's Shogun firearms licensing system has been updated to comply with changes to explosives legislation which came into effect in April 2005. Changes have been made to the explosives forms and functionality, including an increase in the field length for the description. This allows full names to be given rather than abbreviations, as required under the new legislation. This updated version is available now for all Shogun customers.

01/06/2005 WILTSHIRE PILOTS RTC SYSTEM WPC Software is helping Wiltshire Constabulary speed up the process of dealing with road traffic collisions (RTCs). The force urgently needed to replace the system used to record and store details of RTCs and turned to WPC for help. The previous, stand alone system had become outdated and a more user friendly, efficient and networked solution was required. The new RTC Indexing system provides a direct link to WPC's Ferret document management software, enabling documents relating to incidents to be stored together with details about the individuals involved.

01/06/2005 HERTFORDSHIRE BUYS INCA Hertfordshire Constabulary has purchased WPC's INCA system to manage its new stock of incapacitant sprays. INCA was developed from our TrakCS system, already used by the Leicestershire and Staffordshire forces. This year a number of UK police forces are expected to replace their CS Sprays with a new synthetic pepper spray called PAVA.
