ELVIS helps catch illegal drivers

02/2006

ELVIS PFWPC Software has updated its powerful ELVIS-PF vehicle information system to provide Merseyside Police with force-wide access to statements that are recorded when drivers have to produce their documents at a station.

ELVIS-PF now includes a facility that offers police forces instant computer access to all HO/RT 2 statements and automatic links to the PNC to speed up data entry.

The system provides officers with a central electronic repository for such statements which any enquiry desk officer can access to input information.

Previously this documentation was held on separate paper ledgers at different police stations. ELVIS-PF also automatically retrieves insurance, driving licence and MOT information from the PNC for validation.

The system will provide police forces with valuable intelligence data linking people to vehicles, helping officers catch uninsured or disqualified motorists.
