WPC PROMOTE FACET AT THE NATIONAL FRAUD FORUM
10/2009
WPC Software have recently attended the National Fraud Forum. The forum was held at the Latimer Conference Centre in Buckinghamshire between the 7th and 9th October. The forum was an opportune place to showcase our new case management system, FACET. The system has been designed for the fraud and finance department.
At the forum there were delegates from the majority of the UK police forces' economic crime units. FACET was demonstrated to the economic crime delegates as a system that could save them valuable time and improve their case preperation.
The Forum was being hosted by the ACPO Economic Crime Portfolio through the National Working Group on Fraud. The forum brought together a wide range of knowledge in the field of fraud investigation. There were key note speakers from law enforcement, Government, the legal profession, the private and public sectors.
FACET was developed in collaboration with Nottinghamshire Police's Fraud and Finance Department. Detective Constable Kevin Pratt, a fraud investigator with Nottinghamshire Police said:
'Many police fraud investigation teams have limited manpower and finite resources. This means that complex fraud cases can sometimes take years to prepare. FACET changes all that.
The ability to scan bank and credit card statements has resulted in huge savings in time and manpower. Work that used to take two to three weeks now takes just two to three days. This means that we can bring cases to court much more quickly.'
FACET records and tracks details of enquiries and investigations concerning either fraud or asset recovery, made to the FACET department. Statements, inventory, exhibits, evidence, documents, records of witnesses and a narrative are logically presented and linked together.
