Northamptonshire launch Lynx Fire

09/2006

Lynx FireNorthamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service recently held a launch of WPC Software's powerful system Lynx Fire, designed to help fire services tackle the growing problem of arson.

The new system provides a central database for all information relating to fire investigations and enables organisations to quickly identify links between people, addresses, incidents and other record types.

Developed by WPC Software working closely with Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service, Lynx Fire is an invaluable tool that enables fire services to manage all the information gathered as part of an investigation, including people, addresses, vehicles, statements, organisations and many other records. Links between records can be represented graphically and associations revealed to give fire investigators greater insight.

Northamptonshire's Fire Investigation Team and Arson Task Force are beginning to use the system to turn raw data about fire incidents into valuable intelligence.

Chris Lowe, manager of Northamptonshire's Fire Investigation Team, said "Lynx Fire provides us with an effective and efficient way of managing and recording fire investigations and will enable us to identify links between current and previous reports."

He continued: "The system's ability to analyse patterns and uncover associations makes it an invaluable source of intelligence that will help the Arson Task Force, the Fire Investigation Team and other organisations tackling the growing problem of arson."
