ACPO Child Protection and Abuse Conference
January 25, 2012
WPC attended the ACPO Child Abuse and
Protection Conference. This was an opportunity for police
forces to gain an insight into WPC's unique Child Protection
software solutions.
COMPACT - Misper
has gained national recognition; the system enables forces to
review cases involving young run aways, ensuring that measures are
in place to maintain their safety.
A new feature within the upcoming spring release of V.5 is
the ability to add Child Abduction notices which allow
officers to link runaways with a notice which has been
served on individuals of interest. This allows forces to
build a picture of any individuals to whom a missing
child is consistently found with and take preventative
action.
There will also be the addition of Interventions
Reporting, which will record and manage long-term care
strategy of the child between the police and the local
authority responsible for any care.
We work closely with our COMPACT user group to ensure that
the system provides the features necessary for the safe return
of young people.
CATS
(Case Administration and Tracking System) The system helps to
track cases regarding Child Protection, Domestic Abuse and
Vulnerable Adults. The system gives a much clearer picture of
the child or vulnerable person.
The data collected in CATS can be used to piece together
vital information on family background of that individual,
helping the user make more informed decisions.
As a case is progressed, CATS validates the information
collected and ensures the case has visibility to the relevant
officers and staff members.
