Core-Vet offers police forces a fully auditable and secure method of managing the entire vetting process. It is a web-based application, exploiting the latest technologies and designed to be used by a force vetting team.

Core-Vet helps forces administer applications for all police staff and officers, as well as non-police personnel, such as contractors.

By using Core-Vet, forces are able to adopt a consistent approach in line with the ACPO vetting policy for police communities. This strategy aims to ensure that a safe working environment is provided to all employees, and so contribute to the safety of the public they serve.

Core-Vet's benefits include:

• It enables vetting departments to manage every aspect of an application, for either national or local purposes, beginning with the initial request and extending through to the ensuing aftercare.

• Forces will be able to build up a complete history of an applicant, which could encompass: previous applications, previous addresses, previous checks/clearance levels and details concerning their relations.

• Vetting operators will be reminded of checks/clearance levels that are due for renewal or review.

• The facility for storing photographs will assist in the prevention of fraudulent applications.
