ELVIS - Vehicle Recovery

ELVIS - Police Forms

West Mids Case Study
Overview

ELVIS-VR is an exciting new development from WPC to help those involved in abandoned vehicle and arson reduction initiatives and police vehicle recovery schemes. This is a problem which costs local authorities, police and fire brigades hundreds of thousands of pounds a year.

The highly configurable system is designed to track vehicles through all stages of their life-cycle whilst they are being dealt with.

System Benefits

Today's leading initiatives for dealing with nuisance vehicles require a more efficient and streamlined service. Our system will allow them to access information when and where they need it and manage office processes quickly and accurately.

ELVIS-VR aims to cater for these requirements by:

  • Providing a central resource for abandoned, and other, vehicle information to enable instant sharing of data between all organisations.

  • Giving public facing staff in all organisations involved in the process the tools they need to provide a speedy and useful service for their customers.

  • Improving office efficiency by automating many tasks such as informing removal contractors of new vehicles needing to be collected and communicating with DVLA.

  • Providing a full audit trail which is vital in any case involving litigation.

  • Saving on office space, working towards a paperless office.

  • Allowing out of hours access to vehicle information.
Quotes

Inspector Gary Bullock of the Roads Policing, Operations Department at West Midlands Police said:

“ELVIS has made it possible to take the vehicle recovery scheme back in-house with minimal staffing by fully interfacing with our command and control system.”
