WPC Lynx LYNX - Operations Management System
Overview

Lynx is a software application designed to gather information and form relationships between various record types.

Lynx allows the Force to manage nominal, address, telephone and telephone transaction records. Links between records can be represented graphically and associations revealed.

System Benefits

Today's police forces require a more efficient and streamlined service, where they can retrieve information as and when they need it.

Lynx gives an Investigating Officer an effective, easy-to-use tool for managing all aspects of an investigation. New operations can be created in a few clicks, enabling more time to be dedicated to the case. Lynx aims to cater for these requirements by:

  • Offering facilities for the management of nominal, address, telephone and telephone transaction records. Telephone calls and potentially other methods of communication can be imported, creating an invaluable source of intelligence.
  • Affording excellent charting facilities, including the ability to construct links and generate new records using the graphical user interface.
  • Being cost effective and using a Best Value approach, making use of industry standard software wherever appropriate.

Lynx could benefit a Fraud Investigation Unit wishing to assemble as much relevant information as possible in order to establish full details of a case.

Patterns of behaviour and precise relationships between nominals and/or addresses can be determined by focussing on telephone communications. This can reveal a larger picture and influence the direction of an ongoing operation, for example, a drugs investigation

Lynx grants optional access to Ferret, our document management system, thus saving on office space and working towards a paperless office.

Overall, Lynx is a highly analytic and "intelligent" package that enables resources to be targeted effectively.
