WPC Lynx LYNX - Telecommunications Data Analysis
Overview

Lynx is a software system designed to help organisations with RIPA authority analyse telecommunications data obtained from the various Communications Service Providers (CSPs).

The analysis of telephone transactions is becoming a more and more important aspect of modern day policing and thus the burden of analysing the often thousands of records from the many CSPs is growing.

WPC Software believes it has developed a software package that can really make a difference to an organisation and improve its efficiency when analysing telephone records.

System Benefits

When telephone records are obtained for a given case, Lynx can import telephone billing records from a variety of sources, display most frequently called numbers, supply telephone area and service providers, thus saving many hours of manual effort.

Some of the benefits that Lynx provides include:

• Providing a central resource for telecommunications data relating to a particular case or investigation.

• Offering facilities for the management of nominal, address, telephone and telephone transaction records. Telephone calls and potentially other methods of communication can be imported, creating an invaluable source of intelligence.

• Being cost-effective and using a Best Value approach, making use of industry standard software wherever appropriate.

• Affording excellent charting facilities which, by focussing on telecommunications data, can help identify patterns of behaviour and precise relationships between nominals.

It has been developed by working closely with several UK police forces and offers some unique functionality in terms of telephone billing importing.
