Firearms licensing software.

Shogun

Overview

Shogun is a software application package designed for use by Police Firearms Licensing Departments. Its primary function is to aid the administration and printing of Firearm Certificates, as well as related certificates and permits.

The user interface makes use of the flexibility afforded by Microsoft Windows. Firearms systems have to relate people, certificates, weapons, land, ammunition and other information. With Shogun, an operator can quickly retrieve information- for example, who owns a firearm, who owned it previously, what land a certificate holder is allowed to shoot on, who else is authorised to shoot on the land.

System Benefits

  • Access to a management information module. This package contains a large number of queries and reports, including those required for the Home Office and Scottish Office statistical returns.
  • Shogun Intranet is a software add-on product for Shogun customers who wish to make available the information held in their department, but need to be able to safeguard that information and keep it secure.
  • Because of the information on demand facility, the number of enquiries and requests directed to the firearms-licensing offices are likely to be dramatically reduced, enabling them to work more efficiently by focusing on their core responsibilities.
