Inspector Paul Winter of Nottinghamshire Police said:

'Nottinghamshire Police has been successful in securing £1.2 Million from the Home Office Crime Reduction Programme to tackle alcohol related town centre violence. To do this effectively we need accurate records of police visits and incidents connected with licensed premises. These need to be available to all operational officers 24 hours of the day. Inn Keeper will allow operational officers to access this information at all times and will enable us to be more pro-active in our approach to licensing issues.'

Detective Superintendent Jackie Alexander, Chairman of the National CATS Strategic Group said:

'I am very pleased with the recent developments to CATS which are in response to the requirements of those officers and staff using the system every day.'

The Strategic Group are particularly excited by current work to merge child abuse, domestic abuse and vunerable adult referrals. Specialists in public protection are acutely aware of the links between these areas and having a system that can operate across them all is a most positive development that will enable better safeguarding and case management in those forces with access to CATS.

'We are also currently working with WPC to ensure that we are linked into the requirements of the new Police National Database.'

Detective Constable Kevin Pratt, a fraud investigator with Nottinghamshire Police said:

'Many police fraud investigation teams have limited manpower and finite resources. This means that complex fraud cases can sometimes take years to prepare. FACET changes all that.

'The ability to scan bank and credit card statements has resulted in huge savings in time and manpower. Work that used to take two to three weeks now takes just two to three days. This means that we can bring cases to court much more quickly.'
