Missing Persons Case Management
COMPACT - Misper is a missing persons case management system that has been developed in collaboration with UK Police Forces. It supports and efficiently manages the many processes associated with missing people. Since its initial development as an investigations tool it has become highly regarded and has even been mentioned within parliamentary debate.
The system has been developed over the years and the active user group provides feedback and pushes forward changes, meaning the system is constantly being improved and kept up-to-date with the latest guidance and legislation around missing children and adults.
A Complete Picture
Active User Group
The system has seen more than eighteen years of development and has evolved to keep up with the latest challenges facing Misper investigations. The active user group provides feedback and pushes forward changes, meaning the system is constantly being improved and kept up-to-date with the latest guidance and legislation around missing children and adults.
COMPACT is designed to help manage the process involved in a missing person investigation, build a complete picture of each missing person and lower the risk involved in missing incidents. This is especially important for people who go missing frequently; a full report history for an individual is available at the click of a button.
The design of COMPACT is heavily influenced by a drive to reduce bureaucracy. Features such as the command and control interface significantly reduce not only time double-keying information, but also the operational risk introduced by that time delay. A number of statistical reports can be generated in seconds, when it may take hours to compile them manually.
Record all of the stages of a missing person enquiry from initial reporting,
through the investigation, to closure
The system records a full history of each missing person, reducing the amount of officer time spent re-keying
Senior officers can guide and monitor in real time the progress of an enquiry in a structured and proactive manner
The system will generate, in seconds, a number of local and national statistics
COMPACT will automatically generate and send the UK Missing Persons Bureau quarterly returns
The automatic link with local authorities notifies partners of each case of a child going missing.
The system has the ability to generate and record child abduction warning notices
Dashboard features allow for colour-coded review statuses, priority ordering and ‘at-a -glance’ details
The system is fully auditable, which is imperative when dealing with cases involving litigation
Individual Intelligence Reports show special reports that highlight key information about the individual
COMPACT includes a filterable version of iFIND, approved by the UK MPU and National Search Centre
