Software to enable the safe recovery of vehicles by contractors and the completion of related administration

vehicle management

Overview

Working with local authorities we have utilised our vehicle recovery system originally designed to work for the police. It has been developed to significantly enhance the processes used to manage abandoned, confiscated or un-road worthy vehicles

Elvis-VR allows local authorities to deal with abandoned vehicles in-house which can be both economically and operationally advantageous. This allows the authority to have full control of, and access to, data such as the time and location of abandoned vehicles being discovered, enabling measures to be taken to eradicate the problem.

The system can automate tasks and workflow to inform removal contractors and other users of the next action in the recovery process. This helps to provide instant data sharing between all organisations.

The new software will enable the council to deal with abandoned and unwanted vehicles more quickly and efficiently so that they don't become a target for arsonists.

The system provides a fast electronic link with our partners - previously we had to rely on faxes and the telephone - and automatically notifies our vehicle inspectors when a vehicle is reported abandoned.

Councillor Elgan Morgan, Executive Member for Environment and Transport at  Cardiff County Council said of Elvis-VR
